Proper food digestion is so important in ensuring we are properly absorbing nutrients. It also helps to prevent things like constipation/diarrhea, skin issues, brain fog, headaches, and more. Here are a few simple steps to good digestion.
Wait until you are done with your meal to have a drink. Having a drink while you are eating dilutes the stomach acid needed to support digestion.
Chew your food thoroughly. Not only does this break down the food more effectively but it allows for more saliva, which contains the necessary digestive enzymes to support digestion. Ideally, you should chew each mouthful 30 times.
Avoid eating when stressed. Stress impacts digestion. So find a time where you can enjoy your meal fully without distractions.
Eat small meals more often and avoid overeating as this taxes your digestive system.
