Smoothies are one of the easiest ways to eat more fruits and vegetables and up your daily fiber intake. If you are looking to improve your overall wellness, boost your energy, decrease cravings then making the perfect well-balanced smoothie is an easy way to get started.


They make the perfect healthy breakfast or snack and in under five minutes, you can blend up a well-balanced hormone healthy smoothie. The key to creating a smoothie that will help keep you feeling fueled and full for hours is including the right ingredients. Protein, fiber, and healthy fats.


Here are my go-to simple tips and swaps to make the perfect smoothie:


  • Instead of bananas, try frozen zucchini or cauliflower to boost your fiber. (Note there’s nothing wrong with adding bananas but sometimes it’s nice to switch it up).


  • Try adding in spices and herbs to boost the flavor and get additional health benefits. Turmeric and ginger are anti-inflammatory and can help with digestion.


  • Add in a healthy fat like avocado or butter to help keep you feeling satisfied and full for longer.


  • Try kefir instead of yogurt to boost your intake of gut-friendly probiotics.
