DUTCH HORMONE TESTING

I use DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) in my practice frequently. Why?

Because it’s the most insightful test when it comes to understanding and identifying the root cause of hormone imbalance symptoms.

Since it’s urine-based, it’s easy and comfortable, and you can do it right at home. The results shine a spotlight on your estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol… all your hormones, in fact!

WHAT MAKES DUTCH HORMONE TESTING DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HORMONE TESTING?

There are many different tests that can be done for hormones. The most common of these are saliva testing and blood serum testing. With these conventional tests come some challenges. For example, saliva testing misses the hormone metabolites that help you understand how you are clearing your hormones. Blood serum testing also has the issue of missing hormone metabolite levels, but it also does not effectively test all hormones in the body.

DUTCH hormone testing allows you to determine the root cause of the typical hormonal imbalance symptoms that many women experience. You are testing dried urine multiple times throughout a 24-hour period- ensuring that you are capturing the hormones that are in circulation and understanding how they are being broken down and metabolized.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD BE

testing my hormones?
  • You feel low on energy

  • You’re tired all the time, and it gets in the way of enjoying your life

  • You wake up tired (even when you’ve had a good night's rest) and need coffee to get you through the afternoon energy slump

  • Your libido has gone MIA. You even can’t recall the last time you wanted to have sex (yup, we’re going there)

  • You can’t seem to shift those extra uncomfortable pounds that have settled in inconvenient places.

  • PMS and your monthly cycle are awful

  • You feel bloated and burned out and deal with frequent headaches and acne

These are all signs from your body that something isn’t right, and they’re also clear signs of a hormone imbalance.  When you pinpoint what’s going on and make strategic (gentle!) changes, you can get rid of those symptoms for good.

DUTCH Testing is the perfect tool to connect the dots between your symptoms and what's really going on hormonally.

WHAT CAN DUTCH HORMONE TESTING TELL YOU?

DUTCH hormone testing gives a very detailed picture of your hormones and also shows how your body processes and metabolizes them. The hormones tested include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, cortisol and many more. The test also gives a very clear indication of cortisol levels that fluctuate throughout the day to understand how your adrenals are working and how you are responding to stress.
