If you want to rev up your metabolism, eating the right foods and getting the right exercise is a good place to start. However, you also want to make sure that your lifestyle also supports a healthy metabolism.
Today I’m sharing 5 lifestyle habits to help boost your metabolism.
Go Easy On The Caffeine
Now before you say there is no way I’m giving up my morning coffee - hear me out. When consumed in moderation, caffeine can actually give your metabolism a boost. However, when we are consuming too much caffeine in a day then it can lead to dehydration and interfere with many processes in the body, including slowing your metabolism.
Staying hydrated helps you maintain optimal metabolism and maximizes the number of calories you burn each day. Aim to have between 8-10 glasses of water per day There are plenty of different foods and drinks that can help you hit this target, so even if you are not a huge fan of water, you can still reach your target for the day. Herbal teas and water-rich fruits such as melons are good options.
Move Your Body
Daily movement will help rev up your metabolism and burn off some extra calories. If you want to really get your metabolism going, resistance training needs to be a part of your routine. Try and get in 2-3 strength training workouts per week, mix in some cardio and be sure to be consistent, and find workouts that you enjoy!!
Get Your ZZZ's
Getting at least 6 hours of good quality sleep each night helps to support a healthy metabolism. It ensures that your vital organs are functioning optimally and prevents your metabolism from slowing down.
